Academic Schools are geared towards educating your child as to not make bad choices anymore. These programs are usually much more liberal and open to a more relaxed change of pace, where your child buys in to the concepts being taught at their own pace. The child can get kicked out of these schools for extreme behavior, and because most of these schools are open campus, a child with a drug or substance abuse issue may not be successful at this program type. These schools do have a very good success rate for getting kids into college and on to higher education through a new found love for learning and turning the underachiever into the overachiever.
